Description

The exploration and the transformations around the human body have been the object of wide-ranging reflections in several disciplines. Particularly since the 1960s, the art world has considered the body as a material to be modelled. In this way the very idea of beauty has been questioned, leading to sometimes extreme experiments, which have radically redefined aesthetic canons. Since the 1990s, the fashion world has also fully entered this experimental drive, in particular thanks to the contribution of Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan. Cosmetic surgery and the creation of clothing are two parallel paths that proceed in the same direction: that of a new body that creates a model of beauty capable of going beyond the standards.
