Description
The Sustainable Development is based on the regeneration, the enhancement
and management of natural and built resources, improving performances in
the respect of their identity. Nowadays, the issues related to the urban and
environmental recovery have to deal with a new scientific approach to mitigate
the vulnerability of the cities, using conservation and transformation actions
compatible with the heritage to be recovered.
The Ph.D. training in Building and Environmental Recovery, Maintenance and
Management responds to the demand for researchers and professionals able
to plan the recovery and maintenance design.
The text contains the teaching disciplinary approaches and illustrates the
doctoral thesis carried out in recent years and together with the post-graduate
researches.
The illustrated researches highlight the shift from a culture oriented towards
the recovery design to the pre-figuration of integrated management for the life
cycle of the built environment.
