Description

This is not a book for NERDs, specialists or scientists. The effort of these pages will be to make simple a very, very complex subject, both because it encompasses such hostile scientific disciplines as astronautics, aerospace engineering, computer science, electronics, and satellite earth observation (the nascent earth observation); and because some technologies are so recent and changing that in fact there are no books that describe them comprehensively, but one must refer to articles in specialized journals that usually remain confined to a few thousand insiders or on the tables of remote laboratories. This book aims to explain what satellites do, how they are used, what has been their decisive role in the Ukrainian affair since the invasion of Crimea (2014). Above all, it will recount how the United States and Russia have for a decade now been periodically wage war against each other trying to sabotage each other’s infrastructure in Space, with China slyly watching and occasionally putting its foot down.
